United Tigers owner slams BCB over T10 League NOC decision Posted - Oct 22, 2026, 6:27 pm 2026-10-22T18:27:34+06:00 Updated - Oct 22, 2026, 6:27 pm 2026-10-22T18:27:34+06:00 Four Bangladesh cricketers were expected to feature in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League, but none of them will be able to take part after failing to receive No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Mahedi Hasan, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Shamim Hossain and Habibur Rahman Sohan were all selected by United Tigers for the tournament. The franchise's owner, Zaffir Yasin Chowdhury, has now expressed his frustration over the decision in a lengthy statement. Yasin said he was deeply disappointed that the BCB had refused to grant NOCs to the four players selected for the upcoming season. “For years, through our franchises in major tournaments around the world, including Global T20 Canada, Lanka T10 Super League and Zim Afro T10 League, we have remained committed to promoting Bangladesh cricket internationally. We have also worked to create opportunities for both established stars and emerging young players,” he said. “Continuing that commitment, United Tigers selected four Bangladesh players for this season's Abu Dhabi T10 League. We are the only franchise in this year's competition to have signed Bangladeshi cricketers. Under the captaincy of Fakhar Zaman, we believed the tournament would provide them with a valuable opportunity to compete with experienced international players and share the same dressing room with them.” Yasin said the decision was particularly disappointing because, according to the franchise, the players had no international commitments during the tournament. “We were deeply saddened to learn that the BCB had decided not to issue NOCs to these players. Given that, as far as we know, they have no international duties during this period, we had expected greater clarity and coordination from the board's leadership on a decision that directly affects Bangladeshi players and their involvement with international franchises,” he added.
